Traveling solo as a woman, my priorities are safety and comfort. I have never felt more looked after than I did at Dar Ambre. The hosts were like protective friends, always ensuring I had a plan for the day and a safe return. It was the perfect, serene base for my Moroccan adventure.

We used Dar Ambre as our command center for adventure. The concierge was phenomenal, arranging a seamless 3-day trip to the Sahara and a fantastic hiking guide for the Atlas Mountains. To be able to have these rugged adventures and then return to such refined luxury was the best of both worlds.

This riad is a masterpiece of restoration. As an architect, I was in heaven. The attention to detail in the zellige tilework, the flawless tadelakt in the bathrooms, and the masterful use of light and shadow in the courtyard is simply world-class. It’s a living piece of art.

As someone with a very demanding job, I was looking for true disconnection. Dar Ambre was the perfect sanctuary. After a day in the vibrant chaos of the souks, stepping back into the absolute tranquility of the courtyard was a gift. The sound of the fountain and the impeccable, unobtrusive service allowed me to finally breathe.

We spent the first week of our honeymoon at Dar Ambre, and it was nothing short of magical. It felt like we had discovered a secret world, hidden away from the bustle of the city. The private rooftop dinner they arranged for us under the stars was the most romantic experience of our lives. We will be back for our anniversary.

I came to Marrakesh to photograph its famous light, but honestly, my most inspiring shots were taken before I even left the riad each morning. Dar Ambre is a masterclass in texture, shadow, and color. The way the sun moves through the courtyard, creating shifting patterns on the zellige tiles, the deep turquoise of the pool against the warm clay walls, the golden glow of the lanterns at dusk… it’s a profoundly beautiful place that encourages you to slow down and truly see. My camera is full, but my soul feels fuller .
